Notes: I'm Margaret Stead - My personal dream is to create
a million brilliant careers.

Creating the Career of Your Dreams
The key: If you can clearly describe what you want to do, find the people you
want to work with and speak their language, you can sell yourself - then you
will achieve your dream career. This is something I have been teaching since
1991.

Within the next few years, I want to make my online careers site freely
available for children at school, everywhere. I'd love to hear from anyone
who has similar goals.

I've launched the first online outplacement web site outside the US,
providing corporates and individuals with affordable job search, career change,
blog and back-to-work services.

When I'm not continuously updating the vast job and careers directories on
the site - I'm busy running career change and blogging classes on the
telephone and 'live' forums for job hunters, wherever you may be.
If you send me your CV, we will analyse it and let you have some personal
feedback from our team of career coaching experts. As an example cover
letter, I created the following personal background information:

Entrepreneurial track record: Successfully operated businesses
in consultancy, online outplacement, recruitment, psychometrics
& career management – creating businesses from zero - using
integrity & ‘chutzpah’ to win market share.

Developed ‘from scratch’ a career management consultancy
providing outplacement and back-to-work services to corporates,
private individuals & business schools, globally and – becoming
the ‘Thinking Man’s Outplacement Consultant’. (FT 05)

Created, designed and developed the first careers web site in
the UK (and the first UK animated site) – consistently utilising
the job search power of the Internet, in a networked world of job
boards, electronic resumes, email and applicant tracking systems.

Raising the company profile: Designed and implemented an
innovative career development methodology that uses a proactive
approach to self placement – using networking training, (workshops,
reports, teleseminars and audio) and timely personal introductions
to help people get better jobs, fast.

Toured the UK & Abroad delivering presentations to Business
Schools becoming ‘Accredited Career Providers’ for the Association
of MBAs.

Showcased career coaching techniques/lectured on stage, TV,
Radio and in the media – including European/ Asian/ African/
American programmes.

Worked with 40 European transnational partners to deliver
‘state of the art’ online job search interactivities for the socially
disadvantaged over five-year projects.

Commercial acumen: Consistently managed profitable career
management business over twelve year period without ever
borrowing.

Ability to sell, influence and persuade: Networked with
independent career professionals internationally to form ‘own’
community of professionals available for independent
assignments.

Continuing Professional Development Advisor for IPD, West
Midlands for four years.

President of the Association of Career Management
Professionals, International – from the Midlands Chapter.

Former President of Women in Business Association,
Chartered Occupational Psychologist, Chartered Fellow
of the Institute of Personnel and Development, Fellow
of the Chartered Institute of Directors and Fellow of the
Royal Society.

Energy, drive & commitment: Writing books, blogging,
articles and popular enewsletter – Career Coach. (10,000
readers, only 26 ‘unsubscribes’ in 40 monthly issues.) -
